The Game Awards 2016! “Super Metalborne 3: The Wild Fallout”

HAI GUYS.

Tonight, the Game Awards 2015 will take place, this time in Los Angeles, at the Microsoft Theater. It’s been a mixed bag for video games this year (at least for me). Sort of like a bag of Chex Mix that you pick around in, eating only the super salty Chex pieces, and ignoring the gross  brown circle thingies that you just know have some sinister intent  that you can’t quite place.

For those too lazy to go to their official website: the Game Awards 2015 begins at 6 PM Pacific, and you can watch it on the usual channels (Twitch, Youtube, etc.)! Continue reading The Game Awards 2016! “Super Metalborne 3: The Wild Fallout”

This Is About a Game Called “Undertale.”

Here I am. Back from the land of the dead. How long has it been since I wrote something here? A year? Probably more. I ask myself why I am here. I don’t really know. I mean I DO know, but I uhh . . .

Look.

I will talk shortly about a game. A game I’ve just recently finished. There are no plot or story spoilers here but there are some out-of-context images that are visual spoilers; it would hurt me physically to spoil this game. Nope, and no tips or tricks on how to play it either. I’m not even reviewing it or rating it this is a review, Tyler, you idiot.

It is–without a doubt–the best game I’ve ever played.

Regenerate Your HP at EXP

It’s that time of day again. I’m hungry, and this time, I want to be whisked off to Vancouver.

From its website alone, video game-themed EXP Restaurant & Bar promises a plethora of fun and flavorful foods to be had. “Level up and be awesome,” they challenge, and with excellent company, too.

309 W Pender St, Vancouver, BC V6B 1T3, Canada. Open 5pm to Midnight.

I’d like to say that I checked out their events first, but let’s be honest, ambiance is nothing if I’m struggling to swallow meaningless mush. (There’s a separate, angsty time and place for that, thank you.) Here, check out the menu with me. Continue reading Regenerate Your HP at EXP

Super Metroid: The Sandwich Review

Yes, after a long hiatus, I return to you with a Sandwich Review of the Nintendo’s Super Metroid! This was the first time I had ever played this game and only the second Metroid game I’d ever played (Metroid Prime being the first, which I never got around to finishing). With Super Metroid’s legendary fame, I expected it to be great, and I was not disappointed! But like all sandwiches, it isn’t perfect for every palate.

Happy MMXV, & Enjoy “Awesome Games Done Quick 2015”!

Whoa, this is the first post of 2015? I hope everyone fails their New Year’s resolutions, and the entirety of the next 365 days turns out to be a dirty, bitter disappointment. That said, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

To kick off MMXV, Awesome Games Done Quick (or, AGDQ) is returning for a week of hyper, glitch-filled video gaming. Tune in to watch your favorite games run at sonic speed by experts/devotees of the games, and learn about the tips/tricks that only true love could have discovered. And, as usual, donate if you can, because the proceeds go to a great cause: the Prevent Cancer Foundation. At the time of my writing this, they’ve already raised $91,479!

Check out the schedule here (Mega Man X3! Kirby Super Star!), and tune in on Twitch to watch this year’s AGDQ action.

Music Wednesday(?): Introducing Shimomura Yoko!

Shimomura Yoko is one of the greatest composers alive/ever will live. Hyperbole? PFFFT. She’s created music for Legend of Mana, Kingdom Hearts, and is currently finishing up the soundtracks for both Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV. Here are some of my favorite tunes of hers as an appetizer–I intend to write a “composer spotlight” for her in the very near future!
